I am a Waikato-based artist focusing on the beauty of New Zealand’s native birds, animals, landscapes and seascapes, using different styles and genres of realism, contemporary realism and abstract. I also incorporate impasto techniques and different mediums in some of my work which results in unique and different artworks. Working mainly with oil on stretched canvas or board.
I describe myself as a passionate artist – passionate about art and the colors I use, and passionate about everything else I do in life. I am largely influenced by my physical surroundings and paints what I see in everyday life and what I love around me.
Through my art, my desire is for the viewer to share in my experience the natural beauty of New Zealand.
Adoring New Zealand colors, especially the bright and vivid New Zealand summer colors of nature I decided to use strong, bright and vibrant colors which prove to be a winner in my artworks.
After obtaining a Degree in Graphic Design I worked as a full-time graphic artist. I then did further studies and obtained an Honors Degree in Media Arts, which included Painting, Sculpture Illustration and Installation. I paint and work from my studio and gallery at home.
